User Reviews about FIFA Soccer 2006
A great game, very good indeed! Graphics are great, situations are perfect, many options to play. -- GREAT
I will keep this short. If you are reading this you know what the game is about. Although the game is a great buy for $19.99, to me it just came down to one thing. Is it fun? The answer is not really. I love soccer, and granted, for a portable soccer title this is easily the best I have played. The problem for me is that I have discovered that certain games simply don't lend themselves well to a hand held format and this is one of them. The game play is pretty decent and I did like the touch screen mechanics for the free kicks and being able to change formations and strategies on the fly was nice. But after playing Winning Eleven on the PS2 for so long it really just makes little sense to try and compare the game experience because it doesn't compare at all. I think the DS is best suited for games like Super Mario Brothers and Age of Empires or Brain Age and Nintendogs. But when it comes to sports games like FIFA Soccer and/or certain games like Metroid Prime:Hunters (which was very well done) well, let's just say for games like that I'll stick to the format they excel on. THis may seem like an unfair review but to put it in perspective I would never think to play a game like Nintendogs or Brain Age on a PS2 or similar system. It just wouldn't be the same. Catch my drift?
In closing, this is not a bad game. It has pretty respectable graphics and decent control. If you are going to buy a hand held soccer game I can't imagine them getting much better than this. But personally speaking, I think you'd be better served getting something that is Nintendo DS exclusive and really enjoy a novel gaming experience. -- Not bad, but not terribly good either
I've been playing this game for about 2 months now. I've played FIFA on other consoles in the past and I have to say how impressed I am with how this game was ported over to the DS. I really like the instant replay and how you can easily zoom in/out, rotate, and slow down the replay as you watch yourself bicycle kick in the winning goal. It's an awesome game and I highly recommend this game if you looking for a good sports game for the DS. -- Amazingly fun sports game on the DS and challenging
I wasn't disappointed when i bought this game. Nintendo Ds first soccer game and it is very entertaining. Music is good - probably about 6 different tracks in the game, match commentary runs while you play which was a very pleasant suprise - even better it is the BBC's John Motson, a classic british soccer commentator. All the teams you can think of are in here and ever league and cup competition you can think of (pretty much) so plenty of replay value. The AI is good, not to easy, not too tough - however once you have mastered the controls and team you will be running rings around people! The general feel and presentation of this game is excellent - and its cheap too! Only gripe is no manager mode - maybe in Fifa 2007???? -- Pocket Premier League
